As as a full-time student (and a full-time waitress), I don’t have as much time to care about my skin as I used to (and oh god you can see that pretty good, just go ahead and look at my forehead)… Wearing makeup almost every day doesn’t help my skin either but there are ways to minimalise the damage that has been done. Because of the lack of time I started looking for some beauty alternatives, that would help me get my skin back on track. Unfortunately my skin is very sensitive so I can’t use most of the products you can find at Boots or any other drug store. That led me to looking for natural beauty products alternatives! They are all quick and easy to make and you can find most of the ingredients in your kitchen!
1. Rose water – I’m one of those people who love the smell of rose water (my flatmates still think that my room smells like an old lady was living there). Rose water is well-known to help in maintaining the skin’s pH balance, controls excess oil and its antioxidant properties help to strengthen skin cells and regenerate skin tissues.
2. Coffe, sugar, and yogurt face scrub – you’ll need 1 tablespoon of grounded coffee, 1/2 tablespoon of sugar and 1 tablespoon of yogurt (preferably natural one). Mix all of the ingredients together and… there you go! A natural coffee face scrub which will soften your skin and get rid of all the oils after the entire day of work. It exfoliates dead skin cells. Coffee is also known to help fight signs of aging!
3. Lemon toner – all you need is a fresh lemon, rose water and a bottle of a purified water. Mix 1/4 cup of lemon juice with 1/3 cup of rose water and 1/3 of purified water. To apply the toner use a cotton pad – don’t spray it directly on your skin! After toning – apply the moisturiser.
4. Cucumber eye pads – the easiest one so far. A slice of a fresh cucumber can be a delicious snack but also an eye pad which can help your eyes to relax after a hard day of work.
